The Castle of Braunfels
The castle has been - and still is - the home of the Counts of Solms-Braunfels for more than 800 years. It is a cultural monument rich in remarkable art treasures.
Over the centuries the castle has been extended or remodelled. Guided tours are available which chart the development of the castle and the history of the prince's family which established ties throughout Europe and to the United States.
Cultural events, e.g. operas in the castle yard and the castle garden are a special treat. At Christmas there is a special programme for all the family.
The castle is open throughout the year; visitors are offered a wide variety of guided tours and events that cater for all age groups and interests.
Families may also wish to visit the wildlife park (free admission) located at a short distance from the castle (30 mins. on foot, 7 mins. by car).
